The Top Toy Aussie in the US came from my kennel and many of the other top placing dogs originally came from Pocket Aussies. I have been in the Toy and Mini Aussies for about eight wonderful years and have enjoyed the breed immensely. I was the first person in the US to ever show a Toy Aussie (Mr. Pickle) he was quite the show off and took the show ring by storm. He had numerous reserves Best In Show and many Group firsts in the HERDING group. Toy Aussies range in size from 10 in up to 14 in. Mini Aussies range in size from 14 to up to 18 in. Mr. Pickle is 10" tall and is a herding fool. He has all the instinct of a Standard size Aussie packed to a ten inch body! He is dynamite on four legs even at eight years of age.
The breed has evolved so much in the last eight years, and many more breeders are working to breed dogs that closer meet the Breed Standard. Not a day goes by that I don’t discover new information that will help this fairly new breed become more true to Aussie type.
